The classic Grasshopper Cocktail is a minty fresh after-dinner drink made from crème de menthe, crème de cacao, and heavy cream. Only 3 ingredients- so easy!
The Grasshopper Cocktail is a dessert cocktail that tastes like an after-dinner mint in a glass. It’s sweet, creamy, and delicious and perfect for the holiday season.
The Grasshopper Cocktail has a festive mint green color from Crème de Menthe. Add a candy cane garnish for a little decoration and even more mint flavor.
This has to be the easiest cocktail to make. Only 3 ingredients in equal portions: Crème de Menthe, white Crème de Cacao, and heavy cream. Put them in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake, and strain into a martini glass.
The Grasshopper Cocktail is believed to have been invented in 1928 by the owner of Tujague’s Bar and Restaurant, the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans, who entered it in a cocktail contest and won second place. It was during the 1950s that the drink really saw it’s popularity at the highest.
