Cream Cheese Bacon Green Bean Casserole is maybe the most flavorful green bean casserole ever. I think I love it

Extra Flavor
A standard green bean casserole with condensed soup and a French-fried onion topping is delicious. But add bacon, cream cheese, and a packet of dry onion soup mix and you have the most scrumptious green bean casserole imaginable. It is sure to make converts of people who don’t think they like this quintessential Thanksgiving casserole.

The cream cheese gives this casserole a richness that green bean casserole typically doesn’t have.
French-Fried Onion and Ritz Cracker Topping
Another thing about this Thanksgiving casserole that I really love is it has both french-fried onions and crushed Ritz crackers in the topping. The two combined together make a super crunchy and buttery topping.

Make In Advance
This casserole can be assembled 24 hours in advance. Wait to sprinkle the topping on just prior to baking so it doesn’t get soggy.
Condensed Soup
You can use either condensed cream of onion soup or condensed cream of mushroom soup. Condensed cream of chicken soup would work well too.

Can I Use Frozen or Canned Green Beans?
While I prefer to use fresh green beans, this recipe can be made with frozen or canned green beans. If using frozen, thaw them completely. If using canned, drain them well.
Make It Spicy
If you want this casserole to be spicy, add a half teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes.
